I am a fishing guide out of the Homosassa/Crystal River, FL. I'd like to invite you to come with me to Florida's beautiful Nature Coast for a fun-filled day of fishing, scalloping, or even just a boat ride to the springs. The waters out of the Crystal River area are full of life and I regularly fish for redfish, trout, tarpon, mackerel, and sharks in each of their respective seasons. You can also expect to catch a variety of other game fish including cobia, tripletail, sheepshead, grouper, and snapper.
As my title suggests, one of my favorite things to do is stalk the elusive Redfish (also known as Red Drum). Anglers are drawn each year to the Gulf Coast to see if they have what it takes to tame this hard fighting fish. Redfish can be found prowling among the shallow water Mangrove roots, Sawgrass, and Oyster bars that are prevalent in this area. The Action Craft flats boat that I use is specifically made to handle these fishing conditions with ease. Nothing can compare to the rush that I feel when someone hooks up on their first Redfish.
Depending on the time of year, I also enjoy the action provided by the numerous other species of fish that call Crystal River home. Spotted Sea Trout are one of the most popular fish in the area, while Spanish Mackerel are fast and hard hitting. However, if you are wanting to book a trip during the summer months here in Florida, the mighty Tarpon awaits. Also known as the "Silver King", Tarpon migrate up from Central America and along the coast to provide anglers with the fight of a lifetime as they lift their 100+ pound missile-like bodies clear out of the water. If you are up for a serious challenge, how about trying for one of these giants on a fly rod? This is the method of choice for many serious anglers wishing for a silent presentation in the crystal clear water. Fighting a tarpon is something that can only be explained by experiencing it for oneself. So what are you waiting for?

"During our trip to Florida, we stopped in Crystal River to do a guided trip with Captain Shane Fussell. We caught 12 different species of fish, including an inshore slam (the trout was not filmed). Shane provided awesome fishing gear and bait. We would definitely recommend Shane to anybody who is in Crystal River and wants to catch fish."
